Dogen Zenji said: “A Buddha is not in birth and death and a Buddha is not deluded by birth and death.”

What does it mean not to be deluded by birth and death?  The ‘Diamond Sutra’ says, “a Bodhisattva has no concept of a lifespan!”  Yet practically and compassionately, what does this mean to a person facing their own death or the death of a loved one?
